andrew12345 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 first of all hello people :) hell of a long time since ive been on a forum lol heres my problem searched for similar before posting but had no luck basically i have had a PC running xp home edition for around 4 years now Pentium 4 3.33 ghz procesor 512mb ddr ram gigabyte p4 titan mobo and a 256mb ati graphics card on a agp 8x slot quite recently decided to build by self a media centre with it my upgrades where a new 512mb ddr3 agp 8x graphics card with full hdmi 1080p compatability 2 sticks of good quality ram totalling it now to 1.5gb a terabyte hd and a nice new case all is working fine plays anything i will throw at it. now the oroblem i am now faced with is related to the audio i have got the video signal and sound running through the hdmi lead which is working fine, however the front and rear standard audio ports (front came with new case) refuse to acknowledge any signals going in to them, im a keen dj and normally record my sets on to pc before posting up online etc i have tried and tried with no avail to fix this and its driving me crazy, i would like to keep audio going through hdmi and be able to record with the line in / aux please please be kind and help me out lol before i go crazy Quote
Jelly Bean Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Hello Andrew..... Ok are you sure the internal speaker cables are connected correctly? Have you installed the sound driver and any software that comes with it? Have you checked in Windows Sound to see if anything is muted? I have Realtek sound card and I have to use there software inconjunction with windows sound software... Ok I know what I have written you may of already tried. In device manager doe these ports show and do they have any yellow symbol next to them? Do you have any unknown devices listed? If you have installed the drivers and software, what I do as an easy fix is I plug in all my sound equipment like head set and speakers. I go to device manager and uninstall the sound card driver then reboot my computer....This often kick in the connections to make them work....Simple trick that often works... Sorry if I appear a little grumpy.....I have been working on computers at home and now am dog tired. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
