Just recovered from a hijack/virus/malware.

Somehow the drives (C: hard drive, D: floppy) have dissappeared from My

Computer...but they are still there and they are present in a newly created

user acct.

Can't find the path by backing out of My Documents neither so no access to

My Programs, etc.

Hard disk and floppy are ident as C: and D: in Hardware.

Must be a setting for the main admin/user that was hijacked....but I can't

find it.

That's a great idea, but I'll hold off for a while. I would think just

deleting the user acct and using another would work...as I said, everything

is still there, it's just not visible by one user acct.

I would think there is a setting that's been changed and can be changed back.

thanks.

If it works properly in another account, then it's likely that the original

user profile is corrupted. You should just migrate the data and settings

to new accounts and delete the damaged ones. This will likely be faster

and cleaner than trying to find and fix an unknowable set of obscure damage.
