Can't remote in to one of the machines on Network

I can ping the ip address. But can't connect remotely. Also can't get

through the share name either: \\machinename\ etc. I have the correct IP

address and DNS shows the machine name with that ip address. I can ping

machine by name also.

 

I would appreciate any help!

Hello boba,

 

What do you mean with connect remote into? Remote desktop protocol or access

share with command line. Be more specific, also post the OS you use on client

and server? Also post an unedited ipconfig /all from both machines.

Re: Can't remote in to one of the machines on Network

 

Access share with command line. I can get access to all other machines

through the command line for access share. But for this particular machine I

get the message "The network path was not found".

RE: Can't remote in to one of the machines on Network

 

It is access share with command line. I can access all other machines but

this particular one comes up with message: "The Network Path was not found".

It is windows XP machine.

forgot to mention about the OS. Client machine is windows XP and we have

Windows 2003 server.
