RuthFrances Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Have new computer with Windows 7 Ultimate, downloaded from HP software to use my printer scanner, Deskjet F1480 need to use OCR for text but cannot find any way to set the correct file ending want to send to word. Quote
RandyL Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I see a Deskjet F4180 but not a Deskjet F1480 at the HP support site. Normally you just use the software to bridge to OCR. No need to set a file extension. You just send the scanned document to Word. Are you sure you have the OCR software installed? This from HP: If you are using HP Photosmart Essential, the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software might not be installed on your computer. To install the OCR software, you must re-insert the software disk and select OCR under the Custom installation options. Quote We are all members helping other members. Check the power; make sure that the printer’s power is switched on, ensure that all the computer necessary computer components are also turned on. Make sure that the hardware is properly plugged in, and also turned on. Apply troubleshooting. A troubleshooter is a tool, which is generated automatically and which can easily fix the problems that occur with your system. Make sure that the drivers are not outdated, corrupt, or incompatible, resulting in disrupting the communication between the printer and the computer. Always make sure that you are making use of the most recent and latest device drivers, and also that are compatible with your system requirements and specifications, as this can be extremely useful in resolving printer issues.
