I want to get rid of stuff that I think is intrusive on my XP

mahhine. For example, NETMEETING. I don't need it, I don't want it.

When I go to control panel> add/remove software > Netmeeting does not

show up. Can't find it in add/remove Windows components either. when

I go to the sub directory for Netmeeting and just delete the files,

they reappear as fast as I can de;ete them. what is the Windows

process that causes this? How do I get rid of Microsoft file I don't

want?

You are apparently trying to delete protected files, which is why the OS

puts them back. To remove optional XP components, go to Control

Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components.

Most of the Windows components are pretty small. If you are that cramped for

space, consider buying a larger hard drive or a second drive (internal or

external) for your data.

Take a look at this article.

How to uninstall NetMeeting on a Windows XP-based computer

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938223

As for why the files keep reappearing, do a Google search for Windows File

Protection. On a side note, going around deleting files because you think

they're "intrusive" isn't a real good idea.

Good luck
