Screen Saver does not come on with LCD Monitor Connected

If I hook up my computer to a CRT the Windows XP screen saver function works

normal.

 

When I hook it up to my Samsung Syncmaster 914V LCD the screen saver only

works in properties / screen saver / preview. It is like the “wait” timer

is ignored.

 

Any suggestions?
