I installed SP3 on a computer running Windows XP Professional and now i'm

having problems accessing help. Specifically the Index and Search features do

not work. Is there a workaround for this?

No workaround but...

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for

Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and

e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada.

Re: Help file not working correctly after XP SP3 installation

Hi, thank you. I'm actually having problems opening CHM file Help (HTMLHelp).

This occurred only after upgrading to SP3. Are there any known issues with

this?

Not unless you didn't install SP3 in the proper environment, no.
