Guest MikeM Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I've just upgraded my workstation to Windows Server 2008 Standard x64, and I've noticed that the availability of the command line defrag.exe utility depends on which shell I'm using (I alternate between cmd.exe and JP Software's TCC; defrag.exe shows up when using the cmd.exe shell). Any thoughts ? Is this utility (and possibly others) tied to the cmd.exe shell ? I'm running as a user in the Administrator group, so I'm pretty sure it's not a privilege issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Re: Windows Server 2008 and defrag.exe Hello MikeM, Some programs will only run with an elevated command prompt, is this an option in your software? Also this seems to be a posting for the vendors website not for MS.
