Need DOS utility to format NTFS partition

Hello,

 

I need small utility that can create a NTFS partition. It needs to fit on a

boot floppy with lots of room to spare. It needs to not care what OS is

presently booted.

disk druid on debian boot floppy, reads every file system in existence, not

just NTFS and FAT. Why DOS? It's not safe to use to manage anything but

DOS. Linux comes in handy when you're trying to get data of old HPFS or

Netware drives and onto any newer systems. And disk druid is the only one I

know of that can do the trick of changing just the file table to switch

from FAT to NTFS, or the other way.

There are no DOS utilities that I know of that can format partitions to

the NTFS file format. NTFS is a proprietary format and there are few

NTFS formating utilities available other than those provided by

Microsoft with their NT based operating systems.

 

Few third party software companies hold license to provide NTFS

formatting utilities, the only one that I can think of which *may* be

licensed is Paragon.
