curiousgeorge Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hi guys newbie here i cant find my original windows xp software but i do have both my cd number and my product number.Would i need to buy another cd in order to install my windows xp.Or could i borrow one and put in the numbers i have on the side of my machine Quote
KenB Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hi, If the original is a full installation of XP then you should be able to borrow a disk. You will need to ensure that the OS you are borrowing and installing is exactly the same as the original that the existing product code relates to. Dalo Harkin Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Just make sure that the disk you get as Ken has said is the right version and also the right bit 32 or 64.. If possible too, you want to get one that has SP3 on it too, saves you having to mess around with the updates as I think from memory SP3 was near 500meg d/l Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
