Hi guys newbie here i cant find my original windows xp software but i do have both my cd number and my product number.Would i need to buy another cd in order to install my windows xp.Or could i borrow one and put in the numbers i have on the side of my machine

Hi,

 

If the original is a full installation of XP then you should be able to borrow a disk.

You will need to ensure that the OS you are borrowing and installing is exactly the same as the original that the existing product code relates to. ( Pro / Home / Media etc )

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Just make sure that the disk you get as Ken has said is the right version and also the right bit 32 or 64..

 

If possible too, you want to get one that has SP3 on it too, saves you having to mess around with the updates as I think from memory SP3 was near 500meg d/l
