VPN Disconnects - Users on XP - Server is SBS2003

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have 3 remote clients in other states that are connecting to my SBS2003

R2 server and if they leave the system idle for more than 5 minutes,

sometimes less, it disconnects them.

The SBS settings are set at the default settings, which allow unlimited

access all the time. Any ideas on why they may be getting kicked off after

such a short time?

thanks

It could be that there is a router between your clients and your

server, which sees no traffic and decides that the session must

have ended and throws it out.

On a Terminal Server, the solution is to enable TS Keepalives on

the server, and this is accomplished via a Group Policy setting.

But you might want to check in the SBS newgroup if this also

applies to SBS servers.

For the correct registry key, check:

Connection
