I would like info on runing SFC at the prompt. Where can I find info on SFC

use ?

Start > Help and Support > [type in] sfc [gets the command's parameters].

SFC /? gives you the info

Thanks for the info.

When running sfc \scannow it ask to insert CD to get a file.

My question is it possible for the file on the CD to be an older version

than the one installed ? Do these files change with updates ?

It would seem to me after some XP updates this could be. I do have i386 on

the root drive and the reg source path points to C:\ but it still ask for

the CD !

I assume it looks into the i386 folder on the CD.
