Guest TurboFool Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I'm working with a team to migrate a client over to several new servers, most of which are running Server 2003 x64. Their older servers were on x86. 90% of the project is routine and not giving us any trouble, but I'm running into issues with the printers. I'm trying to move their shares over to the new server (connecting to them via IP address) and running into issues with lack of 64-bit support by their manufacturers. Most are HP LaserJets which are working fine. But I've got a couple of Canons, Brothers, and Lexmarks that don't seem to have ANY x64 drivers in production for Server 2003 (some have Vista x64). Now I have absolutely no need to actually PRINT from this server to these printers. I need only to share out the printer from it and print from the individual workstations. One thought from a colleague of mine was to use one of the generic HP or otherwise drivers on the server, and then add the correct XP 32-bit drivers in the Additional Drivers section of the printer properties. Is this, or anything similar, a feasible option? Has anyone gotten a solution to work for this sort of problem? Thank you in advance for any assistance you might be able to provide. Jarrett Kaufman
