Jelly Bean Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Hello Paul.... Unplug all external hardware that is not required for booting the computer. Firstly could you restart the computer and repeatedly tap F8 and choose last known good config......Does that stop the rebooting? If no restart and repeatedly tap F8 key and choose safe mode with networking....Does that stop the rebooting? Paul this rebooting could be caused by many things like a virus,a bad hardware driver.bad hardware,a software install, many things..... Have you installed any software just before this started to happen? Could you possibly have a virus? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Paul davies Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 thank you for the reply yes i have tried that, and re installed it to its factory setting so i dont think it is a virus.. it started getting worst after i installed football manager 2011. it just kept freezing then booting up and the monitor would not receive a signal and did a long beep , i had to keep trying booting it up , it took 5 goes to get it started. thanks foe the help Quote
Jelly Bean Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Paul the long beep could be GPU or RAM. Although could you restart the computer and enter BIOS/Setup and load defaults..... Does the beep stop now? OR: Resit the RAM.Or remove all RAM and test each one individualy.....Place one stick in the slot nearest CPU reboot.Does the PC now beep?Power off remove RAM and now test the next one.... Resit the GPU if it is a PCI slot one....Or test a diffrent GPU in the slot. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
