dvd re-writer problem

hi all

i have just installed a liteon 24x int dvd-rw sata 22x dvdrw

i downloaded 4 movies to the above product onto new dvd-r discs but now it goes through the motions to transfer but never writes anything i download from divx player

please help :confused:

Leaving aside the possibility of a malfunctioning optical drive, burning disks is more a software issue than it is with the hardware. What program are you using to burn your disks?

I am reasonably sure that is not what you did. You downloaded onto your computer and the problem is with the burning process.

i download on discs and watched them off the disc

Eden you need a burning software such as Nero to burn to disk...You cannot download from the internet straight to disk.
