NTbackup not unsetting archive bit

I am running NTbackup from a Windows 2000 workstation.

Monthly it backs up data on two Windows XP workstations on

a simple MS network.

Although files are backed up OK, the 'file ready for

archiving' bit is not unset on each file. Therefore the

daily differential NTbackup backs up the files all over

again.

I am wondering if the 'file ready for archiving' bit is

not unset on a network computer?

Anybody know?

A previous posting recommended the share permissions on the XP box be

changed to allow NTbackup write access.

Mark,

think you may be right; I have researched it a bit

further and it appears that the user account doing the

backing up may need 'backup operator' priviliges on the

XP machine.
