Hi, I have a Samsung N110 netbook which I bought in 2009. For a while now, the screen monitor has started to flicker a lot whilst using it, often completely fading out into a white background. I cant see what's on my screen then, unless I adjust my screen monitor position. What should I do?

Thanks.

Hi Procras, welcome to Free Pc Help

unless I adjust my screen monitor position.
If as quoted above you can sometimes see an image on the screen when moving it up or down in an opening and shutting motion then it is almost certainly your LCD screen ribbon that needs replacing.

This is a job that can be done by an advanced home user, with the new ribbon probably costing £20 to £30. However, if you have never changed a laptop screen before then I would advise a trip to your local PC repair shop. Expect to pay between £70 and £100 including the cost of the ribbon.

Sorry we cannot help you more...:(

I thought I knew today...I'll try again tomorrow. :)

Hi, I tend to agree with Frank, it is an advanced job dealing with screen or screen parts on most laptops, however if you do feel like having at least a look at it there is an extremely helpful laptop repair site here=

Laptop Repair Help

The Author does mention replacement of parts and diagnosing failure of the screen.
