Guest chrbar Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Hello, We use a DFS system to our network data (NT domain, Windows 2003). Thus instead of using "net use" to map some networks drives on the pc (Windows XP Pro SP2), we used the command "subst" (subst E: \\server\dfs_folder) in the logon script. But the substituted drives appear as "Disconnected Network Drive"! However, despite "Disconnected Network Drive", it works correctly, in the way we can access the network drive and its data. But it's a problem because users do not try to access to the data, thinking a network problem! Initially we planned to complete our script with a VBS to rename the network drive (to obtain a customized name): customized_name (T:\) instead of shared on 'server' (T:\) But that changes nothing, the script renames the drive when it is mapped via "net use", but not if we use "subst". Have you met the same problem? Do you know a solution to remove the words "Disconnected Network Drive", and the ideal opportunity to customize the name? Thanks a lot, Chris
