System Restore Failure

Several times of late as I have tried to use the system restore feature, it

has told me that the operation failed. I tried again today to restore to a

point where I had installed the Avery Wizard, which I was having trouble

getting out of my system. Again, it told me that it could not complete the

restore.

I thought it might have something to do with my Norton Anti-Virus/Internet

Security, so I disabled it and tried a restore point from a few days before.

Again it failed.

Does anyone have any idea about what the problem may be?

Thanks

Re: System Restore Failure

What Firewall?

What is your version of Norton? It must remain a front runner even

though you think you disabled it!

Hope this helps.

Re: System Restore Failure

Gerry,

It's Norton Internet Security 2008

I disabled the auto protect, not the firewall as I though system restore was

an internal matter.

Re: System Restore Failure

Gerry,

I looked at the doc you sent. That seems to cover the problem.

Thanks

Richard

Re: System Restore Failure

You're welcome Richard.

My question regarding a firewall was directed to determining whether you

were using a third party firewall. Zone Alarm, amongst others, is known

to cause problems so it is always sensible when troubleshooting System

Restore to ask the question.
