Single click acting like double click

Recommended Posts

I have Windows set to launch items with a single click, and never had any

problems, but suddenly, if I click on the title bar for a window, it will

resize, and if I click on a word it is selected, rather than just placing the

cursor there. This just started. How do I fix this?

Thanks,

Sue

Is the mouse old? I suspect the button is bouncing. Try a different

mouse as a test, or just reverse the buttons so the right-click is the

select button. If that prevents the problem, the mouse is bad.

Try setting back to a double click, reboot and then change back to a single

click. If that doesn't do it, try a system restore at a date prior to the

onset of the problem
