How do you fix a possible corrupt registry?

Tried installing SP3, Received Access denied error. Did what Microsoft

suggested. While running a script that manually gives access to each

registry key I received a BSOD. (The script was provideded by Microsoft-For

further information please see my post in the Microsoft Update newsgroup)

Now, the kicker is this PC is 3 years old and the only time I have gotten a

BSOD was trying to install SP3, and 3 years ago a bad video driver.

So my question is, how do I find the error in my registry?

Thanks

Before you suspect a corrupt registry,

Do you have an HP computer with an AMD processor?

HP installed drivers for the Intel processor on computers with AMD processors and this will BSOD the

SP3 install.

There is a patch for this problem.
