nvidia / momentary black screen / refresh !

Recommended Posts

....just unnecessarily fought for an hour or more to fix a momentary "black

screen" or "refresh" if you prefer, every time something is mouse clicked in

nvidia control panel, .....after uninstalling and installing newer nvidia

drivers. !!!!

To cut a long story short, after a hunt on the web, spotted a couple of

people who were told it was the "fault" of the monitor -

I prodded the power off button on the monitor, (older Xiod / Samsung CRT),

then after a few seconds turned it back on - "PROBLEM GONE !"

....so there you are, if you upgrade Nvidia drivers, and get a momentary

balck screen, every time you click on something in nVidia control panel, or

the sytem tray icon for nvidia, and if you happen to be using an old, but

newish !! CRT, simply turn it off and back on again - i.e. it's a temporary

condition in the monitor. ...no would this have happneed if I'd had an LCD

on that PC ?

regards, Richard
