Have you looked at updating it for the newer version Windows Media Player 12, or Media Player 11 for XP. Plastic Nev Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 OK, thanks for that, if more than one player is crashing after a short time there must be a conflict with something else that is running at the same time. As you can maybe see this could be hard work. However, a favourite is security software, which firewall do you have, which antivirus do you have and also any other either antimalware or anti spyware programs. Also I must ask are you running more than one firewall or antivirus. If more than one running they will conflict anyway which could be a probable cause as well. peteymeaty Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 yes its crashes with saved files on media players, i'm running norton 360 but no other firewalls are on and have no mallware or antivrus software that i'm aware of and have checked, this sucks Quote
RandyL Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 As noted it might be a conflict with something but it's hard to say what. You could try temporarily disabling Norton 360. Since you have multiple players it might be that one of them is conflicting. You could try uninstalling all players and see if the Windows Media Player runs.
