External file encryption

Ok I am getting very tired. I need help badly.

I have always used encryption when I back up certain files to my external WD

Drive.

Computer crashes can not start, I am forced into reinstalling my XP Pro. Now

I cant access these very important files. I did not back up my "Key".

Microsoft did not even warn me to back it that I can recall. I know this is

my fault and I love Microsofts software but there has to be an alternate

solution to access these files.

Please help

Sorry, encryption wouldn't be very effective if it had an alternate

method of accessing without the Key. It's a hard learned lesson

but you've reached a dead-end.

Do not re-install. Do nothing with your hard drive.

Investigate data recovery of your existing hard drive.
