MS Visual C++ Runtime Library

Whenever I start up my computer (XP Pro) I get the following message:

Program: C:\Program Files\HP\hpcoretech\comp\hptskmgr.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Question: What does it mean and how can I stop this dialog box from appearing?

From your description I'd say you re using a Hewlett-Packard device of some

kind, the HP in your message; if so, ask them what it means.

In layman terms the program hptskmgr is misbehaving and closing in a way

it should not. I'm going to guess that some error condition did not get

handled properly by the program and the program is crashing. Just a

guess.

Still its an HP program error. HP Task Manager? But something you

have loaded for an HP piece of hardware, printer?

Anything not working? Hp related?

That's probably from an HP printer. If you are getting Visual C++

runtime errors, you could try downloading the Visual C++ 2005 SP1

runtime libraries, installing them, and see if it stops complaining.

You can get the Visual C++ redistributable here:
