I have recently reinstalled windows xp on my computer ( Packard Bell imedia 1307) there is a built in sound card (realtek ac97) windows no longer recognizes this sound card.....so I cannot adjust volume etc. I have tried to download drivers, but I don't know how to install them, or even if they are the correct drivers.....can someone please help ?....thank you

I have looked on the PB site and can see no mention of 1307 under the imedia options.

There is an XP compatible driver ( PV U09 ) ??

 

There is an option to d/l some software to identify the hardware on your system.

Click on the "i" in the circle.

 

Let us know how you get on.

Personally I would go into device manager and try and install the driver and when it searches will search windows update for one too..

Hi ANTIQCOOL, i had the same problem after reinstalling win xp on a friends PC, The sound was realtek AC'97. . Having found this on the INTERNET, loaded it onto a disc and went through the device manager to reinstall the driver and yes! it worked - we have lift off and sound. Starbucks link is the one. Good luck.

 

PS as had been said you could load it onto your desktop but i used a disc so as to keep a record, this self loaded on insertion.
