Login Error at Startup

Hi,

Please help I get an error during startup and it says:

"The system could not log you on. Make sure your Username and Domain are

correct, then

type in your password again". Seems like the system is trying to login

automatically into the Admin account.

Beneath that error message is the classic login box with the username

"Admin" in it.

I click OK, close that box and it brings me to my user accounts. I type in

my password and all is well.

Is there any way to get away this annoying login error msg? Please advice.

Thanks in advance.

FYI, I have 2 accounts, the Admin acct and I opened the Guests account.

It sound like you never created your own account and are using one of the

two built in accounts (Administrator and Guest)?

If you are using Windows XP Pro try pressing the Ctrl+Alt+del keys (Twice)

when Windows first starts and before you get the error message. Then in the

logon box enter the user name 'Administrator' (without the quotes) and the

password you assigned to this account. if you do not have a password for the

Administrator account then leave the password field blank and press the

enter key.

If your are able to log on as the Administrator then Click Start/Run/and

type in: Control Userpasswords2 and then press OK

Next click on the Advanced tab and then click Manage Passwords.

If the above does not work try using Safe Mode to logon and then:

Click Start/Run/and type in: Control Userpasswords2 and then press OK

Next click on the Advanced tab and then click Manage Passwords.

Thanks for the reply.

I just wanted to remove the error message because my account (Administrator)

is already on the Welcome screen. Pardon me but I don't know what's the

purpose to get in the Manage Passwords.

Re: Login Error at Startup

Sorry forgot to include that fact that it appears you have an issue with a

Domain you have joined (yes/no ?)

OR if not, it could be related to trying to automatically logon.

Start/Run and enter: CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2

On the User tab: pick (highlight) the account you want to automatically log

on

Then Check or Uncheck: Users must enter username and password

Next click Apply and enter the password (if the account you pick has a

password)

Finally click OK until your completely out
