Problem after shutting lid

Hi,

I have recently encountered a problem with my system, where after shutting

the lid of my laptop to rest for a period of time because i have to go away,

it no longer is able to encounter my family's wireless network, so i have to

shut the computer completely off and restart it. It's a pain in the neck and

has just recently started doing this, starting after 3 or 4 shuts, but now

it's down to one. It's just plain annoying because I might have things I'm

doing online that I don't want to lose the place of. Any help would be

greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Problem after shutting lid

Try: Control Panel > Power Options > Advanced tab > Power button

> When I close the lid . . . > select "Do nothing".

Might it be going into Standby ? or does it happen if you just close lid /

then reopen it right away ?

What model laptop - how do you " wake it up "?

I've had some PC's where it would only 'wake up' br pressing .. the power

button, or the space bar .

can you put it INTO standby and wake it up if you try ?

What does that mean ? you USED to close it 3 or 4 times and it was OK

until recently ?

If it was ok after the first 2 times you closed it, then it's not the lid

switch.

Is the power light blinking ?

Again - standby ? what is your current selection ? in power - Home ?

Portable ? Times on each and AGAIN check "how to wake it up "

Everybody heard you when asked this 14 hours ago.

Impatience is neither well regarded nor rewarded in these groups.

Open Device Manager, open the properties on your ethernet card, click

the Power tab, and deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device

to save power".
