Unknown dll Errors

I have a multiple problem that I'm hoping for "simple" help with as I'm not

comfortable making Registry edits and am a semi-novice. On booting up Windows

XP: Error Loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\tlrqlswg.dll AND again for

vpvrxbct.dll.

I've had SP2 but the person I share the computer with said he installed SP3!?

I use AVG Free and Ad-Aware and that's when it started somehow. I've

scanned with several other pgms but most charge to do a complete scan and

removal. Is there a GOOD spy/malware pgm that I can run on a regular basis ?

I don't have money to be buying all kinds of regedits and such.

Secondly ... also on startup I also get an installation attempt .... Sonic

Activation Module, and to insert disc or point to proper drive/file. Anybody

got a clue on this one?

Desperately seeking solace,

Looks like you had a virus or two that were removed...

but there are still residuals left in startup.

It may end up requiring editing the registry...

but for starters ...run msconfig and see if the malware is in startup...

and if so, remove it

Do a thorough check for malware, following all of the steps at one of these

Web pages.

Help with malware:

All MS-MVP Sites.

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?

For quite a few people it's by installing programs like Messenger Plus,

whose ads for malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince

you that you owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see

what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure

of.

Re: Unknown dll Errors

Thank you for response. This may sound stupid but how will I known if the

malware is there? Will it have the names that the errors are looking for?

And ... if so how do I remove them, SAFELY?
