Device Manager not displaying anything

I'm running XP Sp3 and when I try to see the devices installed on my system

using the Device Manager it does not show any devices installed. What is

going on?????

Device Manager and Network Connections may be blank after you install

IF a Norton 'product' was actively monitoring the system when SP3 was

applied, see this:

I just completed all suggestions made in your response. Device Manager is

still blank. Any additional suggestions?
