hermy73 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Window XP running on Dell Dimension 4700 w/ a NetGear GA311 modem. This is a used Pc I aquired and have no modem setup disk. When I went through setup to go online message is unable to find modem. In setup the only modems standard modems speeds fro 28.8 to 56K, no brand name modems listed I have tried updating drivers didn't help, downloaded and installed netgear Ga311 driver still same thing, PC won't recognize there is a modem. have tried removing modem and booting then reinstalling hardware still nothing happens. How do I get the installed moden on the list of offered modems in setup? Most PCs have a list of Brand name modems to choose from what is with this system? Thanks for any help I can get on this. or a recomendation on buying a new internal modem. Quote
