maly Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Recently i threw my Monitor Driver disc away could somebody get back to me with all the driver contents from the disc or just the Windows XP drivers for it. I'd appreciate this as i've tried the LG website but it's discontinued and only have the Windows 7 Driver or atleast the .icm inside the archive also tried Windows Update but it's not listed. W2053.inf W2053.icm ( Image Color Matching Profile ) W2053.cat Thanks Quote
BeeCeeBee Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 This may seem like a stupid question but is the monitor not working? The built in generic drivers in windows should work fine. In fact I have no recollection of ever installing drivers for my LG monitor nor even receiving a disk. Quote "Familiarity breeds contempt - and children." Mark Twain
maly Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 The correct color profile for your monitor is typically placed as an .ICM file in the \WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color\ directory when you install your monitor drivers. Your monitor drivers are usually contained on the driver CD which came with your monitor. If you haven't installed these already, I strongly recommend you do so now, and if necessary, manually search for the correct .ICM file and place it in the directory mentioned above. If you do not have a driver disk, or cannot find it, then you should search the internet for your monitor manufacturer's website, and/or your monitor's brand and model number, and find the latest drivers. http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_5.html Quote
RandyL Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I'm with BeeCeeBee on this. You already have the correct drivers. What you will get from LG is the forteManager software. This will replace your ATI catylist control panel software which in my opinion is superior (ATI). I've tried fortManager and didn't like it. If you want to update your ATI graphics display adaptors then you can do so via the ATI site or Windows updates. But if it's working there is no need to. If you want the fortManager software you can find the W2053-TQ-PF version by clicking monitors at this link. http://www.lg.com/us/support/product/support-product.jsp Find your model and download, save and unzip the zip file. It's the first zip file. Don't let the name confuse you. It's also for XP. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. maly Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 I've got this working now litterally by placing the driver files into C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color the reason why i believed it was for Windows 7 is because if i try to right-click and select 'Install Profile' it won't allow it also when opening the .icm it says Windows...7 hehe Quote
