betel23 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Question please... Can I partition my Hdd which is currently on my computer using 32bit use it to install 64 bit system on my new build and access either 64 &32 bit from the new machine? Thank's Quote
RandyL Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 First of all if you're talking about putting your old drive in a new computer Windows will need to be reinstalled on that drive to match the new hardware. If you want two drives with Windows or a dual boot drive with 32 and 64 bit I don't see why you can't do it. You need to actually install them though as I said. Not just swap a drive. Also to keep in line with Microsoft licensing rules that will constitute the need for an additional license even if both operating systems are on the same disks. Plastic Nev Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I think also you will need a processor that can handle 64bit, though I would wait till one of our other more hardware knowledgeable members answers that one.
