hp compaq 610

2gb ram

centrino dual

windows 7 (32)

i feel really disturbed.

i installed firefox 4 a few days ago and after i days use it went crazy on me. i tried to unistall it and revert back to version 3. mozilla help advized to download version 3.5 and then 4 could be deleted and 3 would work.

not so.

if fact now each time i try to use firefox, the laptop says i must restart. which i do and then this repeats so i'm getting nowhere.

i am now using internet explorer and i never ever use it so everything is alien to me.

also years of favourites and recent sites i was working with have now gone from me.

i would love to be able to get rid of version 4 of firefox and have 3.5 or 3.6 working again.

i tried a system restore but only the most recent is listed and is of no use.

Hi Tismehi, do you know at the moment which version you have installed, is it 3.5 or 4?

I would go for a full uninstall of Firefox, but using Revo rather than the Windows own, set to the full removal so all traces are gone, then try to reinstall it. Sorry but a full removal will probably remove your bookmarks as well, but I feel there may be something corrupted causing the issue.

On the system restore point try this. Choose a different restore point. Then Show more restore points. This should give you older restore points. It might be slightly different on your Vista then my 7 but it's similar. I used to have Vista.
