Guest lcaccts@gmail.com Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 We have 2 Dell servers purchased at the same time last year and configured exactly the same. They run a web application, HTTP, FTP and SMTP. The problem is that every fews days to a few weeks, we never know when, the server will become unresponsive when logging in to the console. This happens whether we log in at the monitor, using the remote access card or the rdp console. We get a black screen for about 30 - 45 minutes and either have to reboot or wait it out. During that time the server can be pinged but the web sites cannot be reached. There are no System or Application errors or even warnings in Microsoft. There are no viruses or trojans on the servers, scanned many times. If the CPU or memory spike it's not from the web application, that is monitored. There are also 2 Gateway servers running the same OS and applications, never have a problem. Any ideas??? Specs: Dell PowerEdge 1950 Windows 2003 R2 SP2 Enterprise Edition 16 GB RAM DRAC 5
Guest mitch holt Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Resolution? Resolution? Did you get a resolution for this issue? I am having a similar issue except the server is only unresponsive for about 2 minutes.
