Hi john.

I doubt they are swf files. Right click the file and select properties. The Type of file should be listed. Once we know for sure the file type there are many converters that can change a lot of file types. I've used some free ones so I could upload to youtube.

hello...

In the properties list these files are down as "Shockwave Flash Object (.swf)".

These clips are rendered off his playstation which is linked to call of duty.com where once saved they become .swf files which are not recognised by YouTube.

I have downloaded 3 converters in which all 3 have failed to recognise these files.

Are there any other easier methods of recording?

Or any ways around this?

Any ideas are greatfully recieved.

I don't have Playstation. My grandson uses Xbox so I can't help you with that part.

It does seem difficult to find a converter. It seems most freeware offerings come with limitations unless you buy the full version. Don't you just hate that?

I did install Free SWF Converter to check it out. (free version) It seems to do well but I don't know how large a file it will handle or whether it includes sound but it will convert to formats youtube supports.

Another one you can try is CinemaForge but again I don't know anything about it and I have not tested it.

Others may have more suggestions.

Good to hear that John. I've done the same thing for my grandson so I know how you feel.
