What version(s) of Vista include client-side TS 2003 licensing? I know with

XP, I had to have XP Pro clients, but I am just now beginning to add Vista

clients.

Re: Vista CALs

You need a TS CAL for every client or user, irrespective of the

version of Vista.

A Windows 2003 TS Licensing Server does not contain a built-in pool

of free licenses.

FYI: XP Pro clients never came with a free TS CAL, they received a TS

CAL from the pool of built-in licenses on a *W2K* TS Licensing Server

when connecting to a W2K TS.

Re: Vista CALs

Let me rephrase this. I already have the TS CAL's. I just seem to recall that

one had to purchase a client-side license for Windows 98 (separate from the

TS CAL's) but not for Windows 2000 client, and I assumed that difference also

existed with XP Home vs. XP Pro. Are you saying that the Windows version on

the client - that all I need are the TS CAL's installed on the TS Licensing

server in the domain? That is, are you sayng that XP Home can function the

same as XP Pro as a TS client as long as a CAL is available on the server

(and the same for Vista Home)?

Re: Vista CALs

You always need both a Windows CAL and a TS CAL for every client

which connects to the TS. So what you have heard about W2K and XP

clients is not correct.

But if you have to buy additional Windows CALs depends on the

Windows OS licensing mode of your TS and the number of Windows CALs

that are installed on it.
