Why doesn't microsoft make it clear about whether remote assistance requests

can be accepted in XP home. The information in various tech forums is very

contradictory. From my own experiments I can say that it is only possible to

accept help requests if you are running XP Pro - you can only send them in XP

home. I think this needs clarification once and for all from microsoft.

Windows XP Home Edition is fully capable of responding to a request for Remote

Assistance. If you are having problems providing remote assistance, it's not due

to the version of XP installed on your computer. Problems with Remote Assistance

are often the result of network configuration. Routers are the usual culprits.

What XP Home can't do that XP Pro can is act as a host for a Remote Desktop

session.
