Hello,

I have a Pavilion p6180t specs:

Motherboard: Pegatron IPIEL-LA3

Processor: Intel 2 Core Quad Q8300

6g DDR3 Ramm

I am using an HP w1858 monitor, which I believe is HD compatible.

I was wondering what a good graphics card for my computer would be to be able to play newer games like Shogun 2 had ultra/high settings. I'm not sure exactly which cards my motherboard can accommodate, any help would be appreciated. I know I will have to upgrade my PSU, thanks!

hi nathfull,

It would be useful to know what your budget is, as your motherboard has enough PCIE slots to take any graphics card around.

What graphics card do you have at the moment?

At this point, I would recommend ATI Radeon HD 5770, because it has good features and capabilities (such as HD) and only costs around £100/$160, and because it has served me well. If your budget can go any higher/lower the standard of graphics card with go up/down also.

Try not to get mislead as so many others have by the 6770. It may have a bigger name as a number, but if you look closely it is exactly the same as the 5770.

I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We’ve created life in our own image.

very sound advice! the 5770 is a good quality mid range card and should fit fine in your hp case as more recently HP retail casings are getting more and more limited for space inside. but as it is not a massive card all should be well :) and if you have a low profile hp case just make sure it has the low profile bracket in the box also.
