It's part of the Roxio burning software you have installed. You'll find it

in Add/Remove Programs as something like "Roxio DLA". Uninstall it from

there.

Likely your machine has an older version of Easy CD Creator. The

DirectCD is a component of that software that is known to cause

issues. If you check Add/Remove programs there should be a Easy

CD Creator entry. Instead of Remove you can choose "Change" &

once the installer loads specifically remove the DirectCD components

from your install.

And potentially for any packet writing stuff, like InCD for Nero, DirectCD

for EZCD, etc, etc. I think it's safest to just skip the packet-writing

stuff, and only use the DAO (Disk At Once) burn mode, and then chuck the CD

and make a new one when its time to "update" it.
