Guest ICJD Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I have a folder that a number of users have access to. The folder contains Excel files. I want the users to be able to open and make changes and then save the Excel file. I do not want users to be able to delete the files nor do I want the users to create files or folders within this folder. Is this possible? Thanks for your help.

When you open a .xls or a .doc a temporary copy is made. When you save, after successfully writing to disk the old file is deleted and the new one re-named. This is a sound method. Really a new class of NTFS permission is required - MS Office File Update! -- Newell White
