Quick Launch Task Bar won't undock

I am trying to drag and drop the quick launch task bar from the main task bar

so it is undocked. I want to place this on the left side of the screen by

itself. It used to be there and somehow my 4 year old daughter made it

disappear. When I show the quick launch from the toolbar window I cannot get

it to drop on the desktop.

Please advise.

Is the taskbar locked? Unlock it.

Try Right clicking on the task bar (the area between quick launch and the

notification area containing the clock) From the drop down menu remove the

'tick' mark from the 'lock the taskbar' option. This should then allow you

to move the quick launch bar.

The taskbar is not locked. I can drag it and it has the icon when you drag

but when you let go of the mouse button nothing appears.

I have done that. When I go to drag it off of the taskbar it doesn't move.

Try left clicking on the clock and move the cursor to the left side of the

screen. I don't understand your comment about it having the icon--when I

drag my taskbar, it merely moves--no icon involved.

RE: Quick Launch Task Bar won't undock

What I mean is when you go to drag it, it shows the curser and a hashed line

box. I shouldn't have said icon. I has the quick launch on the side before

then my daughters (5 and 4) where playing a game on the internet. I came back

to my computer and the quick launch was gone and when I clicked show quick

launch it would appear on my task bar but I cannot drag just the quick launch

to the side.

Drag the hashed line to the left of the QL toolbar.

RE: Quick Launch Task Bar won't undock

Thank you for all your help. What I ended up doing is creating a new toolbar

and that one is now along the side of my window.
