Micster0 Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 (edited) I recently used the repair option for my wireless USB connection which wasn't responding. However, whilst doing so it stopped responding after disabling it and it never had the chance to re-enable itself... Ever since then I've not been able to find it under networks nor will the USB device respond when I unplug + replug it into any USB port. System: Microsoft windows xp professional version 2002 service pack 3 computer: intel® core2 CPU 4400 @ 2.00ghz 2.00ghz, 3.00gb of ram physical address extension I am using a belkin model f6d4050 v1 enhanced wireless USB adapter. KenB Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Are you sure that the USB ports are working ? Have you tried other devices in them ? If all is OK with the ports and when you plug in the wireless adapter you get no response at all - I would suggest that the adapter has died. Try the adapter in another system. New Hardware should be recognised. If not - dead adapter. You could try uninstalling the drivers from device manager then re-install. Start > in the run box type .....devmgmt.msc ....ENTER Click the + next to Network Adapters. Right click on the device > uninstall. Micster0 Posted April 22, 2011 Author Posted April 22, 2011 Nail on the head. It was a faulty USB adapter.. Then again what did I expect for £10? This pretty much solves it. The only problem now is waiting for the bank holiday to end! Thankyou very much for the help. Quote
RandyL Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 KenB is away at the moment but like the rest of us I'm sure he will be glad to hear you sorted it and took the time to let him and everyone else know what worked.
