Braden Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Hey everybody, sorry I'm kind of a noob at this, but I am wondering if this video card is compatible with my computer. I am looking for a good gaming video card and I believe my video card is the problem as Magicka lags when there are too many enemies on the screen. Seeing as I have 3 gigs of available ram and a 3.0GHz dual core processor I doubt that is the problem either. If you don't think the video card is my problem or you think I should get a better video card, please let me know. I am wanting a computer good enough to run any game without lag, I'm not too worried what settings the game is on for graphics so long as it is playable without lag. This is the video card I was wondering if my computer would run: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121418 Specs Windows 7 Home Premium Dell Vostro 220 series, X86 based (if that's helpful) Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 3.00GHz 4 gigs of installed ram All my computer tells me is that I have an ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series video card currently Quote
KenB Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Hi and welcome to ExTS Your present card is PCIe x 16 as is the new one - so no problem here. I did read a review that stated that your new card is long and may not fit all cases. You don't say what you have in the way of a PSU. The new card would probably need about 600Watt PSU - so you may need to consider an upgrade. If you are spending that sort of money you may wish to have a look here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gaming-graphics-card-geforce-gtx-590-radeon-hd-6990,2879.html Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
