Guest Pete Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Does anyone have experience running Diskeeper Pro PREMIER on at least a 1TB Vista system? I've read their literature, but perfer to hear actual experience. -Pete Quote
Guest Carl Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Re: Diskeeper on Vista Ultimate I have been running diskeeper 2007 version 11.0.709.0 on my Vista 64 bit Home Premium, it runs without any problems. It is the professional version, as you say. Quote
Guest Colin Barnhorst Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Re: Diskeeper on Vista Ultimate Yes. I have a 1TG data drive that I just got through reconfiguring and Diskeeper Pro got it back in shape for me. I had removed nearly 400GB of data files from it and was not getting back anything like 400GB of additional free space as reported in Explorer. I emptied the recycle bin and defragged with DK11 and in a couple of hours Explorer was showing the correct amount of white space. It works extremely well on both of my Vista Ultimate x64 boxes, one with the 1TB data drive and one with a 750GB data drive. It works equally well on my external drives, both usb and eSATA connected. Aevin Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Re: Diskeeper on Vista Ultimate I use Diskeeper 2008 Pro running in background defrag mode on 32-bit Vista Home premium (160 GB drive) and XP Pro/SP2 ( total 1.5 TB), and it manages the drives beautifully. Fragmentation is minimal whenever I check the GUI. Diskeeper should run fine in X64 too according to their website. Quote

Guest Colin Barnhorst Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Re: Diskeeper on Vista Ultimate No but it can correct misreported free space. I have seen it work that way a few times on my systems.
