Hi folks, after many years playing about with and fixing computers as a hobby, this is the first post ive placed as im stumped!!

Ive stuck to XP for what now seems like eternity as i never liked vista and knew xp inside and out. But recently i had an opportunity get a W7 laptop.

Thought this would be cool and let me start to get to grips with W7. But......for whatever reason i cannot get its wireless connection sorted out. It connects perfectly with full strength signals. But, it will happily navigate to most pages but any type of data, be it a speed test, or uploading a tiny word doc, or downloading a pic or program, sees the speed drop to 28kbps??? basically, stopped! Ive tried everything i know but nadda!!

On the same network ive a hard wired pc, a hard wired media storage, and two wireless laptops, both around 10 yrs old! lol. They all perform flawlessly at a constant 4mbps. Which makes me pick up my trusty ol xp brick to do anything! lol

Any ides on what i might be missing with this???

Any help, much appreciated

AL

It seems your network connection is ok then. Have you checked for newer network drivers? Is Windows fully updated?
