mail server problems

Apologies in advance for being something of a novice!

I'm attempting to install the communigate pro mail server on my

windows 2003 server vps.. It all went smoothly apart from the webmail

service. For some reason, even though the http user port (8100) is

open listening, I can't get any external connections through. I can

connect to the webmail service fine locally. Likewise, all other http

services of the mail server, admin etc. work fine locally, but not

from the internet.

But I can connect to the mail server fine through pop3 methods etc.

over the internet and it's relaying mail fine through smtp.

I've tried disabling the firewall and IPSec to no avail.. so I can't

understand what's blocking access to the thing! After attempting to

fix it for about 2 days now I think I need help ;-)

Would really appreciate somebody pointing me in the right direction.

Cheers,

David

Re: mail server problems

Hello incredible_sulk,

Think you have to contact the vendor from "communigate pro mail server",

seems for me that: http://support.communigate.com/ will be the right community

for you.

Best regards

Re: mail server problems

I just tried communigate support.. They think it's a network issue

because I can connect locally but not from outside the network, they

think it must be firewall or routing. I don't understand how this can

be, because routing shouldn't be a problem, as it's a simple setup, a

single machine (vps) with only public IPs, none private.. Also, I've

tried disabling the firewall entirely and I still can't connect to the

webmail service of the server.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,

David
