Guest inenewbl Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I have a user whose account was locked because of preauthentication failure and his failure code was 0x18 which is normally a bad password. What does bad password mean? Does it mean wrong password. Moreover my user's account was locked when he was already log on to his machine. His pc did not save any other user password under user management. Pls advise why his account was locked, thks in advance.
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Re: pre-authentication failure Hello inenewbl, Check your domain password policy on the domain level. Here are all options configured how passwords and lockouts etc. are handled. The account locks because of wrong typed passwords and in your policy is defined how often it is allowed before locking it.
