871david Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 hi, i have just updated to Windows 7. How do i get information from my ISP provider so as i can download Windows Live, as apparantly you cant download Outlook express on Windows 7. Thanks David Quote
RandyL Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 You can download it at any time. To set it up you will need to get the POP and SMTP settings from your provider. You might also need to enable SSL on Windows Live. With some providers you do and others you don't. The settings will be exactly as they were in Outlook Express so if you still have that set up on your old computer you can copy the settings. Who is your internet provider David? 871david Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 Sorry. old computer gone. My provider is Wanadoo freeserve. Thanks, david Quote
RandyL Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 David I don't live in the UK so I'm a bit at a loss here. Has freeserve and wanadoo merged into orange? You might find what you need at this Orange support page. http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/238695 By the looks of it you might need these server settings. POP incoming mail server: pop.orangehome.co.uk SMTP outgoing mail server: smtp.orangehome.co.uk Don't use secure password authentication to access mail As for yor username and email settings look at that link for guidance as it matters which service you first signed up for. Also note that when you input those settings; Please note: @fs should not be used in email or webspace settings Here is a better link for complete instructions for Orange. http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/535013 Quote We are all members helping other members.
