don't see task scheduler running in server 2003

I noticed that my scheduled Symantec Antivirus CE scans were not running when

they were supposed to these last 5 days

I read this may be a problem with the task scheduler not running

I open services.msc and see the task scheduler has status of started but

when I look in the task manager, I do not see svchost.exe in the processes

tab. Shouldn't this be running? If I go to services.msc and restart the

task scheduler, I still do not see svchost.exe running in the processes tab

of the task manager. I am using windows server 2003 service pack 2.

svchost.exe does far more than just run scheduled tasks and you should

always see it running....make sure you tell task manager to show you the

processes from all users. But it isn't really relevant. The SAV scans

failing to run should've generated an error in the event logs - I'd start

there.
